i know we're being told we are at the edge of a fiscal cliff. we did not arrive there by not paying enough taxes. the federal government spends insane amounts of money and even by reducing us all to serfs, the taxes will not cover the spending. well said. here's jerry from lamar. she said, please stop spending our money. walk away from the table if they're not willing to stop wasting our hard-earned money. reform the entitlements and lower the taxes. nothing else in my opinion is acceptable. do not go back to the clinton era. that administration led use in a recession and do not raise the inheritance tax. and then listen to this, she said, i am from a family of farmers. that will kill our family and many others and make it impossible to keep farms that have been in our family for generations. that is the most unfair tax there is. this country will not survive more blows to small business and the middle class. stop the insanity and stop it soon. and finally from patrigsa in jefferson city, she said, i want to voice my opinion on what's happening

and the fiscal cliff countdown. 25 days now. >> absolutely. >>> let's get right to the breaking news out of japan overnight. the powerful earthquake, shaking up the country. sam has been tracking it all. and joins us now with the very latest. sam? >> just imagine how frightening that night and morning was. we're talking about friday by the time we get to japan. a 7.3 earthquake kicks off the northern east coast of japan. if this coastline looks very familiar to you, it's because just last year there was a 9.0 quake there. that's the one that triggered not only the earthquake -- but the tsunami and then the nuclear disaster in fukushima. to compare the two, this one is much, much weaker. this sent a wall of water towards the coastline. but this one did trigger a tsunami warning. at points, there was a six-foot tsunami expected. actually, a three-foot wave, wall of water did work along the coastline. the tsunami warnings are canceled right now. let me show you all of the video coming out. this is from sendai. you realize, you see the buildings shaking, this is more than 200 miles away

what fiscal cliff? they don't seem to be worried about it. good morning everybody. it is thursday, december 13. good to see you today here on the "full court press" coming to you live on your local progressive talk radio station. if you're lucky enough to have one and on current tv. booming out to you live all the way across this great land of ours from our radio factory book factory tv factory here on capitol hill in washington, d.c. in the shad dove the capitol dome where members of congress busy going to holiday parties. i saw several of them last night. at a holiday party. the department of labor, thrown by our good friend, secretary of labor hilda soliz but they didn't get much work done on capitol hill as we just heard from david jackson from the white house. seems like things have come to a dead stop both at the white house and on the congress mainly because republicans still refuse to -- they're still insisting that the bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of americans be extended permanently. come on, john boehner! you lost the election! the american people
